Get ready for an exciting event this October in Sarasota, Florida! SRQ Vets is hosting the 1st Annual GHOULFEST Poker Run on October 26, 2024, a fun-filled charity event designed to support local veterans. Enjoy a day of poker, skill games, costumes, and prizes while making a difference in the veteran community. All proceeds from the event will benefit SRQ Vets, a nonprofit organization committed to providing essential services to veterans.
A Poker Run You Won’t Want to Miss
The GHOULFEST Poker Run kicks off at DAV Post #97, located at 7177 Bee Ridge Road, with registration from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM. Drivers can secure their spot for $20, while passengers can join for $15 per hand (up to 3 passengers per vehicle). Fuel up for the day with a hearty breakfast from a local food truck, featuring S.O.S., biscuits, gravy, and plenty of coffee.
The poker run begins at 9:00 AM, with participants visiting several popular stops across Sarasota. Stops include Red Barn Bar, American Legion Post #266, American Legion Post #30, and Adrenaline Harley Davidson. The final stop is Salty Jim’s on Webber Street, where poker hands will be tallied by 12:30 PM. Late arrivals will be disqualified, so don’t be late!
Boost Your Luck with Mulligan Cards & Skill Games
Feeling unlucky? Riders can purchase a Mulligan card for $10 at the final stop to improve their poker hand (limit one card per player). In addition to poker, each stop will feature skill games where participants can test their luck for just $1 per chance. All proceeds from these games will support SRQ Vets and their mission to help veterans.
Costumes, Contests, and More
Embrace the Halloween spirit with a costume contest open to adults and kids under 18, plus a best-decorated vehicle contest. Whether you’re aiming for the best poker hand, worst poker hand, or the most creative costume, there are plenty of prizes to win throughout the day.
50/50 Raffle & GHOULFEST Swag
Don’t miss the chance to participate in a 50/50 raffle at both the registration and final stop locations. The first 100 early bird registrants will receive a GHOULFEST T-shirt, with additional shirts available for purchase during the event.
